(ECNS) -- Three people died while battling a forest fire that broke out at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday in Maxiang Village of Changshun County, southwest China's Guizhou Province, according to local authorities. With rescue operations underway, the wind suddenly changed direction, causing two deaths. Another victim died while receiving treatment in hospital, it was added. Nearby residents have been evacuated to safety.
